Hundreds Make Decisions for Christ at Jay Lowder Harvest Ministries Weekend Event

Duck Commander Willie Robertson & GRAMMY Winner Jason Crabb Joined Together with Evangelist Jay Lowder to Transform Small Town

LowderRobertsonCrabbHAUGHTON, Louisiana, May 6, 2014 – More than 350 individuals in the town of Haughton, Louisiana – a number equivalent to just over 10 percent of the town’s population of 3,491 – made personal decisions to follow Jesus at the Haughton Adventure Weekend hosted by Jay Lowder Harvest Ministries May 1-4.

Haughton Adventure Weekend included events for all ages and featured Evangelist Jay Lowder as well as Willie Robertson of “Duck Dynasty,” GRAMMY award-winning singer-songwriter Jason Crabb, America’s Fisherman Jimmy Houston, Hank Hough’s Kingdom Dogs and women’s speaker and singer LaDonna Gatlin.

Of the decisions made, 195 happened at Thursday’s Xtreme Student Night at Haughton High School’s football field.

“What happened over the weekend in Haughton is unbelievable,” said Lowder. “I’ve hosted Adventure Weekends in communities all around

the U.S. and never have we seen such a large response to the gospel in such a small town. I can’t wait to see how God continues to transform this community in the coming days.”

Lowder, who is an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman, has used the Adventure Weekend concept to bring hundreds to Christ around the nation. Partnering with local churches, Adventure Weekends are designed with activities for the entire family to bring communities together and draw many unreached people who would never come to a church to a neutral environment where they can hear the gospel.

“There are a lot of people in society looking for hope, purpose and definition,” Lowder said. “This was a great event to connect folks with the ability to find that.”

Additionally, the concept helps unite local churches who may never have worked together for a common cause to train dozens of people to share their faith.

More than 3,000 individuals attended the Sunday evening Celebration Rally at the school’s football field featuring worship led by Crabb, a testimony from Robertson and a message from Lowder.Haughton Adventure Weekend included dedicated events for students, women and men as well as a family Outdoor Family Fest held all day Saturday at Haughton High School.
