Joel C. Rosenberg Announces New Non-Fiction Book, ‘Enemies and Allies,’ at NRB Convention

New York Times Bestselling Author Shares Exclusive Conversations from Meetings with Key Arab and Israeli Leaders as Significant Events Unfold in the Middle East in Forthcoming Book

GRAPEVINE, Texas, June 24, 2021 New York Times bestselling author, news editor and dual U.S.-Israeli citizen Joel C. Rosenberg today announced the release of his forthcoming non-fiction book, “Enemies and Allies,” during an interview with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention.

“Enemies and Allies,” set to release Sept. 7, 2021, from Tyndale, skillfully and clearly explains the importance of the sometimes-encouraging, sometimes-violent, yet rapidly shifting landscape in Israel and the Arab-Muslim world. The book explores vital questions about the threats posed by radical and apocalyptic Islamism and the efforts to make peace in the Middle East 20 years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the U.S., examines the grave and growing Iranian threat, and is the first book to explain the inside story of how the game-changing Abraham Accords came to pass.

Joel C. Rosenberg discusses his forthcoming book, “Enemies and Allies,” releasing Sept. 7, 2021, with Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during the National Religious Broadcasters Convention on June 24, 2021, in Grapevine, Texas.

The book includes exclusive, never-before-published interviews, insights and analysis from Rosenberg’s conversations with some of the most complex and controversial leaders in the world, including Pompeo, who graces the first chapter of the book. Other leaders include:

  • Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS),

  • Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi,

  • Jordan’s King Abdullah II,

  • United Arab Emirates’ Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed (MBZ),

  • Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,

  • Israeli President Reuven Rivlin,

  • President Donald Trump and

  • Vice President Mike Pence.

“What happens in the Middle East – for better or worse – affects the entire world,” said Rosenberg. “The Middle East and North Africa are the epicenter of the momentous events that are shaking our world and shaping our future. Two decades after the horrific terrorist attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001, which shifted our focus to the Middle East yet again, the region is undergoing sweeping, historic, tectonic transformations. We ignore them at our peril.”

Rosenberg argues that “it is this same existential Iranian threat that is forcing Arab leaders together to fundamentally rethink, ‘Who are my enemies and who are my allies?’ and one by one they are concluding that Iran is their greatest enemy and Israel should be one of their most important allies. That’s a big reason why in 2020 alone, four Arab-Israeli peace and normalization treaties occurred.”

Over the last few years, Rosenberg has convened faith leaders to meet with top Middle Eastern governmental leaders, at their request, for critical conversations about faith and peace in the Middle East. In “Enemies and Allies,” he shares insight from these conversations and meetings and provides a hopeful outlook on events and decisions shaping the Middle East and impacting the world.

“Attitudes are shifting – not just on the street but also in the palaces and the corridors of power that few outsiders ever see,” said Rosenberg. “This is the first book to tell the story of what is happening in the Middle East. Daily news coverage of specific events is pointillism. What is needed is context. That is why I wrote this book. I will take you inside Royal Courts and capitals and introduce you to the most powerful figures in the region. Love them or hate them, these are the players driving the change. These are the leaders to keep an eye on.”

Having started his career as a political aide in Washington, D.C., today Rosenberg, an evangelical Christian with a Jewish heritage, lives in Jerusalem. He is a New York Times bestselling author of 15 novels and five nonfiction books and serves as Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the news platforms, All Israel News and All Arab News. He also hosts the podcast, “Inside The Epicenter With Joel C. Rosenberg.”

“The change underway in the Middle East and North Africa is coming fast and furious – and it is far from over,” Rosenberg said. “My hope is that when you have finished this book you will have a better appreciation for the immense challenges the nearly 600 million people who live in this area face and how your future and your fortunes are uniquely an inextricably connected to theirs.”

New York Times Bestselling Author Launches Two News and Commentary Websites to Counter “Extreme Media Bias” and Inform Evangelicals and Others About Israel and the Arab World

All Israel News and All Arab News now live from Jerusalem

DALLAS, Sept. 1, 2020 – Amid a year dominated by the COVID-19 crisis, unemployment, racial tensions and urban rioting across the United States, recent events are suddenly drawing the attention of many Americans back toward Israel and the Arab/Muslim world.

In response, Joel C. Rosenberg, a New York Times bestselling author of novels and nonfiction books about Israel and the Muslim world, announced today that he has hired a team of reporters, editors and web designers from Israel, the Palestinian Authority and Lebanon to help him launch two new websites – ALL ISRAEL NEWS (https://www.allisrael.com/) and ALL ARAB NEWS (https://allarab.news/).

”Interest in the Epicenter is spiking,” observed Rosenberg. “The problem is that so many Americans, especially the country’s 60 million Evangelicals, are increasingly unsure where to turn for credible, honest, fair coverage of Israel and the Middle East, much less insightful commentary and analysis from an evangelical and biblical worldview.”

In August alone, a number of key events related to Israel and the Middle East became headline news, including:

  • a historic peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates – the first Arab-Israeli peace deal in more than 25 years;

  • the horrific, devastating explosion in Beirut that left hundreds dead and wounded and some 300,000 people homeless; and

  • the battle between U.S. political parties to define themselves as more “pro-Israel” than the other and more capable of dealing with the threats in the Middle East.

”People are constantly asking me, ‘What do you read and whom do you trust to really understand what’s going on in the Epicenter and why it matters?’” Rosenberg noted. “I find so many people are understandably turned off by the mainstream media these days, despite the remnant of some excellent, honest reporters still providing objective coverage. But there is so much bias – even extreme media bias – against Christians, Jews and Muslims, and particularly against the State of Israel. I decided I had to make a choice: get mad or try to make a difference.”

A 53-year old Evangelical from a Jewish background on his father’s side, Rosenberg moved with his family to Israel in 2014 and became a dual U.S.-Israeli citizen. He currently lives in Jerusalem, where the websites are based.

“We will provide exclusive interviews, proprietary polling, original reporting, fresh and insightful commentary and analysis, as well as links aggregating the most interesting and important news of the day from Israeli, Arab, regional and other credible news sources,” Rosenberg said. “We will also provide a voice for the voiceless in Israel and the Arab world who far too often feel ignored, mischaracterized or outright attacked by the mainstream media.”

Khalil Sayegh, a Palestinian Evangelical Christian, serves on the Advisory Board for ALL ARAB NEWS and as a senior correspondent. Born and raised in the Gaza Strip, he currently lives in the city of Ramallah, located in the heart of the Palestinian Authority.

“It’s important to launch ALL ARAB NEWS now because of the interesting and important events happening in the Arab world,” said Sayegh. “The region is going through unprecedented upheaval and transformation. The threat from extremists like the regime in Iran is growing. But so are the prospects for peace and expanded religious freedom. We want to provide all people – and especially the 600 million Evangelical Christians around the world – with interesting and trustworthy news and stories from a region going through explosive change.

“About a year ago, Joel approached me to discuss his idea of creating this website to serve as a source of credible news from the Middle East,” Sayegh added. “We discussed our disagreements regarding important theological and political matters. But we both agreed that ALL ARAB NEWS is an urgently needed project that can create an environment in which Arab writers, both Christian and Muslim, are at liberty to say what they really believe and not have to agree on everything. That’s one of the things that excites me about being involved.”

Rosenberg is a co-founder of Near East Media, the Virginia-based 501c3 non-profit Christian organization that oversees ALL ISRAEL NEWS and ALL ARAB NEWS. To finance the project, the organization is raising tax-deductible donations. The websites will also have paid advertising and sponsors.

In addition to bringing thousands of Evangelicals to Israel over the years for “prayer and vision” familiarization tours, Rosenberg has also led six historic and headline-making delegations of American Evangelical leaders to meet and open up ongoing dialogue with senior Arab Muslim leaders throughout the Middle East. These leaders include Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and United Arab Emirates Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, along with a wide range of Muslim clerics and Christian pastors and ministry leaders in the Arab world.
