Striving for Second in the Indy 500

I Am Second Partners with Canoe Studios to Sponsor Stefan Wilson in Upcoming Race

NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 17, 2018 I Am Second, a global storytelling organization, has joined Canoe Studios, a Manhattan based photography studio and event space, to sponsor Andretti Autosport racing driver Stefan Wilson in the May 27 Indianapolis 500.

The mission of I Am Second is to inspire others to become Second through serving and loving others by putting Jesus first. In partnership with Canoe Studios, the movement has produced more than 125 unscripted conversations, short films and documentary features.

“I Am Second is honored to partner with Stefan for such a historic and culturally relevant event,” said Lance Villio, president of I Am Second. “We are grateful that he would choose to boldly place the I Am Second logo on his car to remind people that even though his aim is to come in first in the 2018 Indy 500, he is committed to living Second.”

Wilson’s No. 25 car embodies what it means to be Second. In addition to the I Am Second and Canoe Studios logos, Wilson’s #Driven2SaveLives Honda IndyCar, unveiled Monday, includes the names of 25 Indiana residents currently awaiting life-saving organ transplants.

“Stefan is an exceptional driver with a true passion for racing, but also a special man with a passion for others,” said Canoe Studios Founder and President David Seabrook. “His heart is revealed by his partnership with #Driven2SaveLives as they together seek to raise awareness for the 115,000 individuals currently awaiting organs in this country.”

Since its founding in 2008, I Am Second, in partnership with its founder Norm Miller of Interstate Batteries, has been a big supporter of the racing industry. Several drivers, including Darrell Waltrip, Trevor Bayne, Michael McDowell, David Starr, Justin Alleger and Ricky Stenhouse Jr., have appeared in I Am Second’s flagship White Chair films. Additionally, the organization has sponsored cars and hosted events at other races, including the Daytona 500.

“Being partnered with Canoe Studios and I Am Second means so much to me,” said Wilson. “I feel fortunate to be aligned with some incredible organizations, all of which I have a strong connection to, personally. I can’t wait to jump in the car on May 15.”
