'Biggest Loser' Winner Michelle Aguilar Whitehead Reveals How She Finds Purpose and Worth Beyond Weight Loss
New Short Film from I Am Second Releases Prior to the Premier of the Newly Revamped Hit TV Show
Since first sitting down with I Am Second in her White Chair Film to divulge the behind-the-scenes reality of her experience on season 6 of The Biggest Loser, Michelle Agular Whitehead has become an inspirational figure for individuals seeking to transform their bodies and their lives. Now, 12 years after winning the reality television show, Whitehead shares her struggle with self-worth beyond the scale in a new Second Edition short film from I Am Second, an organization known for telling compelling stories of changed lives.
“I can’t let the scale define my happiness. I can’t let the scale define if I’m a good wife or a good mother or a good friend. I can’t let it steal my joy first thing in the morning if it’s not the number that I want to see,” said Whitehead.
After her victory on the show, Whitehead was quickly put in the spotlight, appearing on magazine covers and traveling across the country to be a voice of hope for individuals seeking to make a life change and overcome struggles such as emotional eating like she did. In the more recent transition of shifting her focus to motherhood, she finds herself facing new obstacles and insecurity that can’t be overcome or prevented through mere physical change.
In the I Am Second Second Edition short film now available on iamsecond.com, Whitehead opens up regarding maintaining integrity, confidence and joy in all areas of life, despite weight loss and gain. Her story coincides with The Biggest Loser reboot premiering Jan. 28, 2020, on USA Network.
