Inspiring Film Compilation of Survivor Stories Ignites Hope in a Hurting a World

I Am Second Releases ‘I Survived’

PLANO, Texas, Sept. 1, 2020 - Global storytelling organization I Am Second today released its newest film “I Survived,” a collection of survival accounts from individuals who narrowly escaped seemingly impossible obstacles.

Featuring the true stories of 9/11 survivors Brian Birdwell and Sujo John, professional surfer and amputee Bethany Hamilton, former prostitute Annie Lobert and gunshot victim Tyron Flowers, “I Survived” details each individual’s gripping turning point of realizing that their lives would never be the same.

“The five stories referenced in this film are so encouraging for people who are going through their own challenging times.” said John Humphrey, I Am Second Vice-President. “Not only have these individuals survived something traumatic, they turned their story’s around and put their faith into action.”

Today, each individual featured in “I Survived” is using their second chances at life to inspire and help others facing adversity.

Amid a uniquely painful season for the nation, where 25.5% of young adults considered taking their own lives in 2020, the inspiring accounts told in “I Survived” are timely encouragement to anyone who has ever felt like they could not recover from pain or soldier through another day.

“He [God] told me, you are going to go through fiery trials, but I will give you peace and understanding,” said Tyron Flowers. “What I’ve learned is that with God’s love and with Christ in you, you can overcome any obstacle, any abuse, any hatred, any challenges in your life. You will be able to forgive and love others like Christ loves you.”

“I Survived” can be seen exclusively on I Am Second at iamsecond.com or its social media platforms. Additionally, the entire story of each individual “Second” in the “I Survived” film is also available at iamsecond.com.
