Julie Shutley

Vice President

After starting her career with a statewide political organization in Oklahoma and then working on Capitol Hill with Members of the House of Representatives, key opinion leaders and the national press corps, Julie Shutley now leverages her extensive experience in strategic and crisis communications to help ALRC clients be seen, heard, and known.

During her time at the Agency, Julie has served a variety of film, book, and ministry clients including the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, YouVersion, MinistrySafe, I Am Second and Unclaimed Baggage. She has also helped many universities, Christian schools, non-profits and churches in crisis response and crisis planning, and conducted spokesperson training for ministry and business leaders, authors and others engaged in the public square.

Julie previously served as Deputy Communications Director at the National Republican Congressional Committee, where she helped oversee an aggressive earned media operation that shaped press coverage in battleground races nationwide and was the primary media relations counsel for House Members facing tough re-election battles.  As an official spokeswoman for the NRCC, she has been quoted in both national and local publications including USA Today, The New York Times, Politico, CNN, and The Washington Post.

Julie earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Southern Nazarene University, where she served as editor-in-chief of The Arrow, the university’s award-winning yearbook.
