The Hope Center’s Free Biblical Arts and Artifacts Exhibit Rescheduled for April 22

Work of Max Greiner Jr. to be displayed along with biblical manuscripts from the Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts

PLANO, Texas, March 8, 2021 – Originally scheduled for February but postponed due to winter weather impact, world-renown biblical artist and sculptor Max Greiner Jr., whose works have been commissioned by several Dallas area churches and schools, will now have his art on display at the free Biblical Arts and Artifacts Exhibit to be hosted at The Hope Center in Plano on April 22.  In addition, the Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts (CSNTM), a ministry partner of The Hope Center, will loan several photos of historical manuscripts for the exhibit.

Greiner’s copyrighted drawings, paintings, sculptures and jewelry creations are collected in all 50 states and more than 80 countries. His creations are in many prestigious private, corporate and institutional collections including Coca Cola Bottling, Time Inc, Hobby Lobby, Chick-Fil-A, Zondervan Publishing and many religious institutions and denominational headquarters. Today, the artist’s monumental bronze sculptures can be found on the campuses of many Christian ministries, universities and seminaries around the world. 

The Central Texas-based artist, who has an Architectural degree from Texas A&M University, defers any adulation. “What talent I have has been given to me by God.  Most accomplished artists, composers and writers throughout history have made this same confession,” Greiner said. “I am also certain that my best ideas come from the Giver of all good gifts, Jesus Christ.  It is my desire that my work and life point others to Him.”

Greiner is perhaps most widely known for his 7-story tall contemporary Corten steel sculpture “The Empty Cross” installed along I-10 halfway between Florida and California. Viewed by millions, many believe it is the most symbolic cross sculpture in the world. All of Greiner’s original copyrighted, Holy Spirit inspired compositions will be displayed in the one-day art show held at The Hope Center on Thursday, April 22, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  This includes the artist’s monumental, $100,000 bronze sculpture, “The Lion of Judah.” 

As one of The Hope Center’s ministry partners, CSNTM will loan several pieces to the exhibit, including photos of significant ancient manuscripts which have been digitized to make them accessible for research and display purposes. Their works include many papyrus documents dating back to the 3rd century, now preserved for modern use and enjoyment.

“We are excited to bring this beautiful and historic collection of both art and artifacts together in one place to be enjoyed by audiences from throughout North Texas,” said The Hope Center President LTC Allen West (USA, Ret). “I have been a fan of Max’s artistry for a long time and am grateful for how he uses his talent to point people to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which is something we desire to do here at The Hope Center as well. I am also glad for the opportunity to showcase the amazing work done by our ministry partner CSNTM, introducing their valuable contribution to religious and historical research for those who are not familiar with their ongoing preservation efforts.”

The free public display will run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 22. Attendees are asked to pre-register online for specific time slots, to aid in social distancing and other COVID-19 health protocols.  There is a café onsite for those who may want to grab breakfast or lunch in conjunction with their visit.

Lt. Col. (ret.) Allen West Seeks to Lead Collin County’s Hope Center into Era of Unprecedented Growth

Non-profit’s newest president brings unique credentials to ministry hub

Plano, Texas, Nov. 9, 2020 – Having served as a board member for several years, and with his inspiring leadership credentials, it was a no-brainer when Lt. Col. (ret.) Allen West was selected to serve as president and CEO of The Hope Center earlier this year.

“I see myself as The Hope Center’s biggest champion,” West said. “Its role in expanding the impact and influence of the ministries it serves goes largely unnoticed, and it’s my goal to bring the attention to the center that it deserves.”

The Hope Center is a one-of-a-kind 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides significantly reduced rates on office space, free event and meeting spaces, on-site IT services and much more to its 60+ Christian nonprofit tenant community. As such, it equips these Christian ministries, in a collaborative environment, to expand their reach and multiply their impact for Christ in north Texas and around the world. It also makes affordable meeting and event spaces available to local churches and other groups in need of such space.

“There is nothing like The Hope Center anywhere else in the nation or the world, and it provides such a vital service extending the efforts of these Christian organizations doing good work here and abroad, that I want nothing more than to see that effort expanded and increased,” West elaborated. “I am excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to working with the good people throughout north Texas to make that happen.”

Originally from Atlanta, West is the third of four generations of military servicemen in his family.  During his 22 year career in the United States Army, Lt. Col. West served in several combat zones and received many honors including a Bronze Star, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, one with Valor device, and a Valorous Unit Award. In 1993 he was named the U.S. Army ROTC Instructor of the Year.

In November of 2010, West was elected to the United States Congress, representing Florida's 22nd District. As a member of the 112th Congress, he sat on the Small Business and Armed Services Committees and was instrumental in passage of the 2011 and 2012 National Defense Authorization Acts.

He is a Newsmax TV Contributor, an author of several books; Guardian of the Republic: An American Ronin’s Journey to Family, Faith and Freedom; Hold Texas, Hold the Nation; and  Victory or Death, We Can Overcome, An American Black Conservative Manifesto.

West is the former director of the Booker T. Washington Institute, the Texas Public Policy Foundation, as well as the former Executive Director of the National Center for Policy Analysis in Dallas. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee as well as two Master’s degrees – one from Kansas State University and another from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officers College.

An avid distance runner and a Master SCUBA diver, West enjoys cheering for his beloved Tennessee Volunteers in his spare time. He is married to Dr. Angela Graham-West, a financial adviser, and they have two daughters, Aubrey and Austen.

West is a legacy life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a life member of the Association of the United States Army, and the Society of the First Infantry Division, life member and is a Board of Directors member of the National Rifle Association. He is an inductee into the University of Tennessee Army ROTC Hall of Fame, as well as serves on the Board of Advisors of Amegy Bank, Dallas Region. West was appointed by Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick to the Texas Sunset Advisory Commission.
