‘The Family Business: Personal and Small Group Reflection Guide’ Free Resource Created To Help Individuals Discover God’s Purpose For Their Life

CAROL STREAM, Ill., Sept. 7, 2021 - Author Geoff Peters offers the free resource, “The Family Business: Personal and Small Group Reflection Guide,” to help individuals find their purpose and bridge the gap between their everyday life and what God made them to do. The guide serves to complement Peters’ new book, “The Family Business: A Parable About Stepping Into the Life You Were Made For.

The nine-chapter reflection guide looks at the story and traits of characters from “The Family Business” and walks readers through general reflection, personal connection and questions undergirded by scripture relating to the lesson.

“As Christ-followers we are called to reflect God’s love, beauty, compassion and generosity to those near and far, which can seem impossible at times,” said Peters. “But when we learn to give ourselves grace, accepting how we are uniquely made, we can try to step into the life God has designed specifically for each of us.”

Each outlined chapter includes linked videos that take a deeper dive into the characters. The guide is designed to use questions and stories to spark conversation and thoughts that will lead readers to realize their unique gifts and calling from God. “

The guide was designed with the intent to help readers come face to face with the true identity they have through Christ,” said Peters. “I hope that it can encourage readers to have the heart to embrace their role within God’s greater plan.”

The accompanying book, “The Family Business: A Parable About Stepping Into the Life You Were Made For,” releases Oct. 5 from Tyndale and tells the fictional story of Jesse, founder of the nationally known franchise Jesse’s Hardware, who is getting older and wants to pass his legacy to his children, sharing a message of discovering the life that you were created to live. “The Family Business” helps readers in overcoming obstacles that many Christians face when committing to live as a disciple for Christ each and every day.

All the proceeds from “The Family Business” go to Operation Mobilization and the Mission Gap Project to inspire, equip and connect Jesus followers for God’s work around the world. The book was inspired from a study conducted by the Mission Gap Project, which discovered three primary fears that prevent Christians from stepping into God's work with their full lives – fear of sacrifice, failure and personal safety.
