FRANKLIN, Tenn., Feb. 24, 2021 - CHURCH PEOPLE, a new faith-based comedy film, uses humor to bring awareness to real struggles undergirding the American Church while powerfully presenting a poignant message of what faith in Jesus is all about.

Funded by Executive Producer Mike Lindell out of his passion for Jesus and the hurting, and created by some of the most established faith-based filmmakers working in mainstream media, CHURCH PEOPLE will gather together audiences across the country who are eager for uplifting and meaningful entertainment.

“Many churches today are turning away from preaching the Gospel, instead resorting to clever themes and smog machines to reach new audiences,” said Lindell, who also makes a special appearance in the film. “But at the end of the day, Jesus is what makes the Gospel attractive.

“Through its hilarious comedic approach, ‘Church People’ will remind the American Church that Jesus is enough amidst the prevalence of fear, depression and addiction in our culture, while providing hope to those who may have forgotten this simple, yet transformative message,” Lindell concluded.

CHURCH PEOPLE stars comedian Thor Ramsey as Guy, the megachurch youth pastor; Donald Faison (SCRUBS, CLUELESS) as Jonathan, Guy’s materialistic agent; Michael Monks (NCIS, BONES) as head pastor Skip Finny; Stephen Baldwin (THE USUAL SUSPECTS, THE LEAST OF THESE) as Chad, the tenderhearted church greeter; N’SYNC’s Joey Fatone as Tino, the misguided but enthusiastic worship leader; Billy Baldwin (BACKDRAFT, FAIR GAME) as the father to Blaise, a fiery new convert in youth group played by Clancy McCartney (JESSICA, CHICAGO FIRE); and Andriana Manfredi (MISS INDIA AMERICA) as Gretchen, Guy’s daughter.

Weary from the showiness and materialism that has overtaken his ministry efforts, Guy (Ramsey) goes on a journey to get back in touch with the heart of ministry and be a real role model to his youth group kids. He makes the difficult decision to cut short his speaking tour managed by his money-focused agent (Faison) after realizing that his reputation has become more fame based than Gospel-driven.

But when Guy attempts to return to regular youth ministry, he is thrust into the throes of dissuading the youth group from performing a strange and potentially blasphemous stunt for the upcoming Easter service, starring a young, zealous new Believer, Blaise. In attempting to manage his youth group while navigating an unexpected love interest in the Senior Pastor’s daughter and being a new father to his grown daughter (Manfredi), Guy ultimately rediscovers and puts on a powerful presentation of why we all need to put our hope in Jesus and not in ourselves.

“This movie is so critical because it provides a path for church and small groups as well as families and friends to witness a story of real people navigating real struggles to which everyone can relate, whether or not you go to church,” said Stephen Baldwin. “Few films successfully strike the delicate balance of making audiences belly laugh one moment and cry from a heartfelt message in the next like CHURCH PEOPLE does. I believe this movie will become a beloved favorite for Jesus followers and families for many years to come.”

CHURCH PEOPLE will show in select theaters across the country as a special three-day Fathom Event, March 13, 14 and 15, 2021. To learn more about the movie, visit https://www.churchpeoplefilm.com/. Additionally, the film will be available through the FAN / FCN network - allowing  churches to show the film as a ticketed event for 30 days after its release.
