FRANKLIN, Tenn., March 16, 2021 - Coming off a successful three-day Fathom event release, CHURCH PEOPLE, the faith-based comedy film funded by Executive Producer Mike Lindell, will offer daily virtual screenings beginning March 22 in order to give more viewers access. Simultaneously, SalemNow will make CHURCH PEOPLE available through its On-Demand streaming platform.

CHURCH PEOPLE uses humor to bring attention to the imperfections and struggles of the American Church while presenting a poignant message of what faith in Jesus is all about.

“We fill our lives with responsibilities, people to care for, organizations to lead, resources to steward and families to impact. Breaking that rhythm of seriousness with laughter brings us all together and unifies us in the hope of Jesus Christ,” said Lindell, who also makes a special appearance in the film. “This film is an honest and humorous reminder that the Gospel is enough, and we all need Jesus. I am so glad more people are going to be able to watch this film and be encouraged that though we are all imperfect, the good Lord uses our imperfections for His glory.”

The virtual screenings are available daily at ChurchPeopleFilm.com at select times from March 22 to April 22. Each screening will have a limited number of tickets available. Individual tickets are $19.99 with discounts for multiple purchases.

Additionally, SalemNow visitors will have immediate access to the film beginning March 22 for purchase on their Premium Video On Demand platform at the same price.

“The response to this film has been overwhelming and I am so grateful people are not just enjoying the comedic elements but really connecting with the characters and the redemptive message, which is that we need to get back to the Gospel instead of the spectacle and entertainment that can often be found in the church,” said Christopher Shawn Shaw, director of the film. “I think this is such an important reminder for all of us, especially as we prepare to celebrate Resurrection Day. I am thrilled that more people are going to be able to see CHURCH PEOPLE and I hope they not only are able to enjoy watching it with their friends and family but at the end feel inspired and encouraged.”

CHURCH PEOPLE stars comedian Thor Ramsey as Guy, the megachurch youth pastor; Donald Faison (SCRUBS, CLUELESS) as Jonathan, Guy’s materialistic agent; Michael Monks (NCIS, BONES) as head pastor Skip Finny; Stephen Baldwin (THE USUAL SUSPECTS, THE LEAST OF THESE) as Chad, the tenderhearted church greeter; N’SYNC’s Joey Fatone as Tino, the misguided but enthusiastic worship leader; Billy Baldwin (BACKDRAFT, FAIR GAME) as the father to Blaise, a fiery new convert in youth group played by Clancy McCartney (JESSICA, CHICAGO FIRE); and Andriana Manfredi (MISS INDIA AMERICA) as Gretchen, Guy’s daughter.

Weary from the showiness and materialism that has overtaken his ministry efforts, Guy (Ramsey) embarks on a journey to get back in touch with the heart of ministry and be a real role model to his youth group. He makes the difficult decision to cut short his speaking tour managed by his money-focused agent (Faison) after realizing that his reputation has become more fame-based than Gospel-driven.

But when Guy attempts to return to regular youth ministry, he is thrust into the throes of dissuading the youth group from performing a strange and potentially blasphemous stunt for the upcoming Easter service, starring a young, zealous new Believer, Blaise (McCartney). In attempting to manage his youth group while navigating an unexpected love interest in the Senior Pastor’s daughter and being a new father to his grown daughter (Manfredi), Guy ultimately rediscovers and puts on a powerful presentation of why we all need to put our hope in Jesus and not in ourselves.
