Fall National Prayer Altar Event to be Held at Museum of the Bible

WASHINGTON, Oct. 25, 2022 Hosted by Pastors James and Sharon Ward, the fall National Prayer Altar event will be held at Museum of the Bible on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, 6-9 p.m. EDT. Everyone is welcome to gather as people of all ages, cultural backgrounds and denominations unite in prayer.

“Museum of the Bible is located just off Capitol Hill, where our nation's leaders make decisions every day,” said the museum’s CEO, Harry Hargrave. “As a reflection of our mission to invite all people to engage with the transformative power of the Bible, we're thankful to be a convening place for the fall National Prayer Altar.”

National Prayer Altar organizers James and Sharon Ward contend that America is experiencing a spiritual and moral crisis. “While the physical pandemic seemingly comes to a close, the spiritual pandemic has just begun,” said James Ward. “As salt and light, God’s people are given the exclusive responsibility to humbly unite and earnestly pray without ceasing for the land to be healed.”

James and Sharon Ward are pastors and founders of Insight Church near Chicago and National Prayer Altar — a call for unified, apolitical prayer in Washington, D.C. James Ward is the author of Zero Victim: Overcoming Injustice with a New Attitude and founder of the Zero Victim Community Development Corporation. Sharon Ward is known for breaking barriers and setting new standards through her extensive involvement in spiritual and cultural initiatives.

The event is free and open to the public, but participants should register in advance whether attending virtually or in person. More information is available at https://www.museumofthebible.org/events/national-prayer-altar-november-2022.
