Museum of the Bible Hosts Screening of ‘Unfiltered – Gen Z Reacts to The Chosen’

WASHINGTON, Sept. 22, 2022 Museum of the Bible welcomes fans and those curious about the hit series The Chosen to an exclusive screening of the new documentary examining what young adults think of this biblically based phenomenon.

The Chosen producers gathered nine strangers — many of whom didn’t identify with any specific faith — and asked them to watch “an international hit TV show” without telling them it was about Jesus. "This documentary is their unfiltered reaction," said Katherine Warnock, producer and VP of original content for The Chosen.

The screening and a panel with The Chosen actors and producers will take place at the museum on Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. EDT.

“Museum of the Bible is excited to explore how younger generations respond to stories from the Bible, and specifically The Chosen series,” said Shannon Bennett, chief marketing officer for Museum of the Bible. “Since our purpose is to invite individuals from all walks to engage with the Bible, we expect the takeaways from this film will impact how we invite younger audiences in.”

A VIP reception with the series’ actors and producers gets underway at 6 p.m. on Sept. 27 in the immersive World of Jesus of Nazareth exhibit, followed by a special viewing of The Chosen in the Galilee Theater. The “Unfiltered” screening starts at 7 p.m. for all audiences in the museum’s World Stage Theater. Following the screening, three of the show’s actors and two producers will participate in a panel discussion about the documentary.

Participants include Lara Silva (Eden), Joey Vahedi (Thomas), and Jordan Ross (Little James). Brad Pelo, president of The Chosen, and Katherine Warnock, VP of original content, round out the panel.

“We appreciate the influence The Chosen is having on culture, showing the relevance of the Bible in our lives today,” Bennett said. “We look forward to a continuing relationship with ‘The Chosen’ as we both seek to help audiences experience the Bible in new ways.”

Tickets for the screening at $25 and the VIP reception at $45 are available at https://www.museumofthebible.org/events/the-chosen-experience-at-museum-of-the-bible, which also includes a link to the documentary trailer.
