Museum of the Bible Honors Pastors in October with Discounts, Free Breakfast and Seminar

WASHINGTON, Oct. 4, 2022 Museum of the Bible is celebrating all pastors and clergy throughout October, traditionally recognized as “Pastor Appreciation Month.” In addition to discounted museum admission, pastors and clergy members are invited to a complimentary breakfast, seminar, and guided tour of the museum’s newest exhibition, “The Samaritans: A Biblical People.”

“After speaking with several pastors who were fascinated to hear about our new exhibition and how the biblical Samaritans still exist as a micro-community today, we thought this would be a great way to express our appreciation for their ministry,” said Dr. Jeffrey Kloha, the museum’s chief curatorial officer. “As a former New Testament professor, I’m delighted to put my teaching hat back on, focus on the famous stories of the Good Samaritan and the Woman at the Well, and connect with the remarkable objects and content of the exhibit.”

Here are the many ways in which the museum will honor pastors and clergy throughout the month:

  • Discounted museum admission every day of the month

  • Free weekly come-and-go breakfast from 9-11 a.m. each Monday starting Oct. 10, no museum admission required

  • Access to the special seminar “The Good Samaritan and the Woman at the Well: Samaritans in the New Testament” each Monday from 10-11:30 a.m.

  • A free guided tour of “The Samaritans” exhibit by Dr. Kloha following the seminar

  • A free Global Impact Bible

  • Free Bible imprinting, as well as select Bibles and books at a discount at the Museum Shop

“Our pastors and clergy members serve their congregations every day, so we hope they will be able to join us for a change of pace and to allow us to serve them through the museum,” Dr. Kloha said. “Ministers are truly the unsung heroes in each of our communities, and so we look forward to the opportunity to express our gratitude to each of them, especially during this time of focused recognition.”
